Today I'm...

I know, you thought I was a football girl. And I am. But today is all about basketball. So is tomorrow and the next day and the next... I have professed my love for March Madness before and am excited to do nothing else today but mark up my brackets. And I'm feeling good this year. I can't wait to see my name at the top of the leaderboard tonight! {And as I post this BYU is losing--and that will help my bracket AND make me happy}

Creative Lass?

I have been feeling a little bummed as I've seen everybody else getting out their St. Patrick's Day decor. Admittedly, I've never been jealous before because I never thought it was that cute--but this year I've changed {maybe it's because I now know Moira, who is the St. Patty's queen}. So, I decided to get creative one boring day last week and came up with these. And I love them. But they need more "blingy" shamrocks. I've searched everywhere and can't find more of them. So, I'm hoping next year to add a little more bit o' green. But it's a good start, don't you think?

at the Stadium of Fire. No, "Primetime" didn't come through for me. He obviously doesn't know the right people. So, I took the mission into my own hands. Mission in Meg's hands=accomplished. Now I think I deserve my own "Top Gun" glasses--don't ya think?

Can't wait to scream at the Jo Bros. And my girls are excited because the bros are "hotties" {in Carly's words}...seriously.

Call of Duty

This guy is on a mission. A special assignment {which should be easy with his "Top Gun" glasses}. Whatever you want to call it-- it is super important.

The mission? To find and get me 4 tickets for the Stadium of Fire and these boys...

Because my girls would be in heaven {okay, and me too}. And because we had so much fun last year.

The worry? That tickets will sell out faster than last time {12 minutes}. So my special agent {"Primetime"} is working undercover to try and seal the deal beforehand {I've been told, by said undercover agent, that it's all about who you know--we'll see how that works out for us...}

Girly much?

If you have girls, you may have heard of "Fancy Nancy". If you haven't, I highly recommend finding it {the book}. It's the latest and greatest for the little girlies. Especially if you have little ones that love to play dress-ups, like my Carly.

She was invited last weekend to a "Fancy Nancy" birthday party and they were each asked to come dressed in their "fancies". So she did. And she loved it. And she wanted to stay "dressed up" for the rest of the day. And she happily solicited comments all day long. And I have to admit, I love it {and her}.

Face-ing facts

Do any of you do facebook? I have had several people ask me if I do, almost expecting me to say yes. These particular people have been very excited about it, and can't stop talking about how many old friends they have found.

When Shane came home the other day and told me that he had opened a facebook account, I laughed--because he is so not into this kind of thing. He claimed that a friend had just signed him up and downloaded pictures from my blog. But, then, he was getting so many "requests" from old friends that it was almost funny. Do people look up other people on a regular basis? How do you find someone the very day that they open an account? Nonetheless, I was intrigued. So I opened one for myself. But I still don't get it.

Here's my question. What, exactly, is the point of facebook? I can see how you might find some people from your past--but then what do you do? Do you just add them as a friend and peek at their account every once in a while? Or do you send them messages? Or actually try to contact them? I'm not really getting the point.

And for those of you who do it--what is your motivation? And does it take as much effort as blogging--because I just don't know if I have that in me...

For You {and me}

Carly had a little mini photo session for her 5th birthday pictures--and I'm in love with them. Carly has always been such a little princess--she loves getting all "girlied" up and she adores all of the attention. She and I had a little date for pictures and lunch at Panda Express {of course}.

For those of you who care, here are the rest of the pictures. They all have duplicates in color and black and white. Tell me which you like better--and if you have any fun ideas for me to try with them {I'm thinking a big canvas in her room or something fun like that}...

Snow business

My kids have always kind of gotten the shaft when it comes to playing in the snow. They have a mom who hates the snow, so they never knew what fun was available just outside. This year they were lucky to have an Uncle Norm who built a snow cave, and an Aunt Chrissy who actually wanted to play with them in the cold stuff {imagine that?} Also, Santa was smart enough to bring snow clothes this year--something we have been doing without for awhile.

The girls had a blast. For a bit. Then they realized that when you go sledding, you have to climb back up the hill, on your own. Carly thought it would be much easier to hitch a ride on Chrissy's back.

Which Chrissy was willing to do--for a while.

Thanks, Uncle Norm, for giving us a reason to venture out into the unknown. There's no business like snow business...

Celebrating

Carly turned 5 a couple of weeks ago. Yep, 5 years old. It seems like it has gone by so fast. I'm not sure what I think about her going to kindergarten next year--I will be lonely!

Carly is such a fun little person to be around. I was so worried about her birthday this year--as we have been cutting back all around, I worried that I wasn't making her birthday the fabulous event that it should be {we didn't go to the salon for our birthday makeover, no friend party, and since we weren't having a big party I really didn't want to spend hours making a cake}. There has never been a kid more happy about having a "family party" and making cupcakes to take to school. Her only request--"can I please have PINK cupcakes?!" So, we enjoyed making the most yummy and fabulous pink cupcakes, and she very proudly took them to school to share with her friends. She thrived on the attention she got all day long {actually, all week long} and I just loved watching her enjoy the small and simple moments.
