Do any of you do facebook? I have had several people ask me if I do, almost expecting me to say yes. These particular people have been very excited about it, and can't stop talking about how many old friends they have found. When Shane came home the other day and told me that he had opened a facebook account, I laughed--because he is so not into this kind of thing. He claimed that a friend had just signed him up and downloaded pictures from my blog. But, then, he was getting so many "requests" from old friends that it was almost funny. Do people look up other people on a regular basis? How do you find someone the very day that they open an account? Nonetheless, I was intrigued. So I opened one for myself. But I still don't get it.
Here's my question. What, exactly, is the point of facebook? I can see how you might find some people from your past--but then what do you do? Do you just add them as a friend and peek at their account every once in a while? Or do you send them messages? Or actually try to contact them? I'm not really getting the point.
And for those of you who do it--what is your motivation? And does it take as much effort as blogging--because I just don't know if I have that in me...

I reluctantly joined facebook after friends pushed me into it but I will have to admit it has been fun seeing where all of my high school friends are and seeing pictures of their families. It doesn't take as long as blogging. I hope you enjoy it!
That is so funny that you just posted that, because Shilo just set me up an account last night! I totally don't get it. I just want to post my blog site and leave it at that!! But I am kinda computer illiterate!
I have facebook and it is great. I will say one thing though that just bugs me to no end....PRIVATE SETTINGS PEOPLE!!!! For real. I have mine set up so only certain people can see my photos. As I have associates and friends and family on there. So I really only want the close friends and family to see them. I am talking every day to my cousins in Australia. And of course my family in England and Ireland. It is a blast. You can send a message/comment or instant chat...whatever your little heart desires. You know I'm going to look you up now, right?..lol
i am glad you are on facebook. one more friend for me :). just kidding. i agree that it is kind of a little too much. i have a love/hate relationship with it.
I have an account. There are people from my mission and growing up that I have been able to reconnect with. I've found a few that live up here by us and we've gotten together to let our kids play. Just a social network I guess. I don't spend as much time on there as a lot of people. I just check in a couple times a week.
